Company History

Family owned and operated for nearly a century, the Perfect Measuring Tape Company was founded in 1912 by Andrew Joseph Bohnengel, who imigrated from Germany with $175 in his pocket.

The first product manufactured at our Ohio factory was a  paper measuring tape that is still used today by the world's textile and apparel industries as the standard for providing accurate measurement and inventory control of fabrics and rolled products.

Over the decades we have added many other measurement devices to our product inventory, which we supply worldwide. The PMTC is the rec ipient of numerous awards, including the President's "E" award for U.S. exporters and Governor's "E" award for excellence amongst Ohio exporters. Perfect Measuring Tape is also a proud member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
